Service provided: Accepts unused and unwanted hazardous products year-round from residents of Boulder County, City and County of Broomfield, and Town of Erie. This includes residents of Allenspark, Boulder, Broomfield, Erie, Hygiene, Jamestown, Lafayette, Longmont, Louisville, Lyons, Nederland, Superior, and Ward. Proof of residency (e.g. drivers license, utility bill, voter ID, tax certificate, lease agreement) is required. Business waste by appointment only.
Accepted materials: Household abrasive cleaners, solvents, fluorescent tubes, glues, cleaners, pesticides, automotive fluids, automobile batteries, paint and paint products and rechargeable and non-alkaline batteries. Radioactive, explosive, shock-sensitive, infectious, and commercially generated wastes are not accepted. In addition, the County sponsors a reusable products give-away at the facility during regular hours. Get paint and other useful home-care products for free!
Service provided: Many Colorado Ace Hardware stores accept used compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) and mercury-containing thermostats for recycling. (No fluorescent tubes). They do no accept incandescent light bulbs. Visit their website to find the store nearest you and whether or not they are a participating location.
