Fact Sheet: The Truth About Plastic Recycling
Released in 2020
“How Big Oil Misled The Public Into Believing Plastic Would Be Recycled” — this headline appeared on a 2020 NPR news story, and understandably, it has since prompted a lot of questions from concerned recyclers. It has also generated some long-needed awareness around the challenges of recycling plastic and the need for petrochemical companies to take responsibility for the immense amount of plastic they thrust upon the market without taking action to recycle it.
