Boulder County Is Home to Unique Zero Waste Infrastructure
Boulder County is fortunate to have a variety of Zero Waste facilities, which is a testament to our community’s values and investments in sustainability. On “Recycle Row”—located in east Boulder along 63rd Street and extending around the corner on Arapahoe Road—you’ll find recycling facilities open to all Boulder County residents accepting hard-to-recycle items (such as electronics, mattresses, scrap metal, etc.) and hazardous materials (such as paint and light bulbs), tree limbs and clean wood waste, as well as reuse opportunities for building materials.
Additionally, communities across Boulder County host drop-off centers collecting single-stream recycling, yard waste, and more! As we continue to strive toward Zero Waste and creating a model for other communities, we have one piece of infrastructure missing that is critical to our Zero Waste success—a local compost facility so that we do not export our compost out of the county!
