Let's Create the Future Tour 2013
“Here’s the thing: this planet’s not a place that kids will inherit at some point, far off in the distant future. We live here right now, and we share this planet already.” - Milo Cress.
I have been very honored and happy to have been invited to speak in several countries around the world.
I've spoken at schools across the world, in Australia, Italy, Germany, Portugal, and France. I also participated in events held by organizations and met with politicians in the US and abroad. My speech is called, “The Best Way to Predict the Future is to Help Create It,” (quote by Abraham Lincoln, speech by me). This speech focuses on how people, especially kids, can find and get involved in issues and projects that interest them.
I returned from the first leg to Australia in Spring 2013 and traveled to Washington, DC, where I gave a congressional briefing before traveling on to several European countries beginning in September 2013. Here is a group of kids in Australia taking action after my visit.
I hope in the future to be able to follow up on invitations to Scotland, Ireland, and England, as well as Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and New Zealand.

Traveling responsibly
In order to have as little negative environmental impact as possible in making this trip to accept these speaking invitations, I committed to traveling entirely by public, shared, and non-motorized transportation, and committed to spending nights in shared accommodations, cooking most of our own meals and eating locally-sourced food whenever possible.
Special thanks to Val Fishman at the Bonneville Environmental Foundation for carbon, water and electricity calculations for the trip, and to Colorado Carbon Fund for their help with travel offsets.
