U-Fix-It Clinics are community events where people bring all sorts of broken appliances, toys, electronics, clothing, and jewelry and work with volunteer coaches to learn hands-on repair skills. Not only does this save resources from the landfill, but it also empowers us to repair our own belongings and builds community around the role of reuse in a circular economy! Eco-Cycle is proud to be a supporter of this impactful, feel-good event.

Sign up to table with us at Community Earth Month events!
Events take place during weekends in April.
Earth Day (April 22) is so action-packed around here that we call April Earth Month—we’re busy all month long! While it’s amazing that our community can’t get enough of celebrating our planet, we need some help to represent Eco-Cycle at all these fun events. As a tabler, you’ll get an Eco-Cycle shirt and be accompanied by a staffer, and you’ll spend your shift playing a sorting game with the event attendees and distributing resources. Signing up here lets us know you are interested in tabling with us, and we will reach out with more information as community events are scheduled!
Volunteer with Eco-Cycle at Hard-to-Recycle events
The Eco-Cycle CHaRM facility is an amazing community resource, and during Earth Month (and August) we take it on the road to communities in and around Boulder County to divert electronics from landfills and recycle them! This will be an outdoor volunteer opportunity, and volunteers will be asked to stand for most of the shift, lift items like monitors when needed, and help sort electronics collected from vehicles.

Volunteer for Urban Forestry
May 3 and 4, 2025
Communities must prepare for climatic extremes. The shade and evaporative cooling provided by trees and other plants will be an increasingly critical part of keeping communities safe and livable for humans and our ecological communities (like pollinators). That’s why the City of Boulder, in collaboration with local partners like Eco-Cycle, has initiated Cool Boulder, a nature-based climate solutions campaign uniting community members to forge a resilient climate future.
Last fall, we planted over 85 native trees and shrubs in our community, and we’re expanding our efforts this spring! We are seeking volunteers to deliver trees and shrubs, help program participants plant, and spread the word. These volunteer opportunities will take place on May 3 and 4, 2025, with some April dates depending on volunteer role.
We’re also looking for participants in our three pilot neighborhoods. If you live near Fairview (South Boulder), Crestview (Wonderland Lake area), or BCSIS (East Boulder), please check out our interest form.

Boulder Volunteer Opportunity: Be a volunteer CHaRM lane attendant!
At the Eco-Cycle Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials (CHaRM) in Boulder, volunteers are essential. Learn how you can engage recycling customers about Zero Waste and related environmental issues, and help prevent “contamination” (non-recyclable items) from being mistakenly dropped off.
If you’ve already attended a Saturday orientation, sign up here for your next shift! Please email [email protected] with any questions.
NEW CHARM LANE VOLUNTEERS: Please sign up for a Saturday orientation BEFORE signing up for a volunteer slot! Once you have attended an orientation and received volunteer training, we gratefully welcome you to sign up for any of the volunteer slots that fit your schedule. Training is offered the first Saturday of most months. The next training is May 3, 2025, from 10:00 am–12:00 pm.
