Introducing: The Summer of Sustainable Change Workshop Series!

Join us for a brand-new, FREE behavior-change workshop series!

Many of us want to make changes in our lives that will benefit the environment. From shopping online less, replacing single-use plastics in your life, or ditching fast fashion, the intention is there—but sometimes it can be hard to get started, maintain a new behavior, or change old patterns.

This summer, we invite you to participate in our “Summer of Sustainable Change” series. Under the direction of professor, psychologist, and Eco-Leader Dr. Kelly Kandra Hughes, and using best practices from motivation theory, behavior change, and neuroscience, participants will target one specific, environmentally conscious behavior they would like to change. So no matter where you are in your journey toward more sustainable living, this program will help you make progress in the right direction.

The “textbook” for this 7-week program will be Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones by James Clear. Every week, we’ll meet to discuss readings from Clear’s book with a sustainability lens and personalized feedback provided to participants on a weekly basis for their particular sustainability goal. Together we’ll figure out the best ways to make tiny changes in our daily lives so we can collectively create positive change for our planet!

Come support Eco-Cycle’s outreach at the Boulder County Farmers Market in Longmont! Volunteers will table and chat with community members about recycling and Zero Waste, and help “goalie” at the Zero Waste bins (recycling, compost, and trash) to answer attendees’ questions and help waste get sorted correctly. You will always be with an Eco-Cycle staffer, so no prior experience is necessary!

Table with Eco-Cycle at the Rock & Reuse Summer Concert Series!

Resource Central, Eco-Cycle’s Zero Waste partner and next-door neighbor, is having a summer concert series! We are looking for volunteers to help us table at these events. Volunteers will be accompanied by an Eco-Cycle staffer and will help distribute resources and talk to community members.

Rock & Reuse Concert Series
Five Saturdays from May through August
10 am–1 pm
Materials Reuse Facility at Resource Central (co-located with CHaRM at 6400 Arapahoe Rd, Boulder)

Boulder Volunteer Opportunity: Be a volunteer CHaRM lane attendant!

At the Eco-Cycle Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials (CHaRM) in Boulder, volunteers are essential. Learn how you can engage recycling customers about Zero Waste and related environmental issues, and help prevent “contamination” (non-recyclable items) from being mistakenly dropped off.

If you’ve already attended a Saturday orientation, sign up here for your next shift! Please email [email protected] with any questions.

NEW CHARM LANE VOLUNTEERS: Please sign up for a Saturday orientation BEFORE signing up for a volunteer slot! Once you have attended an orientation and received volunteer training, we gratefully welcome you to sign up for any of the volunteer slots that fit your schedule. Training is offered the first Saturday of most months. The next training is June 7, 2025, from 10:00 am–12:00 pm.
