Webinar: Producer Responsibility in Colorado

Eco-Cycle successfully championed monumental Producer Responsibility legislation (HB 22-1355) in 2022 that requires producers to take responsibility for their packaging from cradle to grave. Join Eco-Cycle for a webinar about Producer Responsibility, where policy expert Rachel Setzke will cover the Colorado law that will provide packaging recycling to all Coloradans as well as the upcoming efforts to create a statewide system for recycling batteries in 2025. We hope you can join us to learn how you can be part of this exciting solution!

Missed the 2025 Eco-Leader Kickoff last month? We’ve got you covered!
Last week, a big group of Eco-Leaders gathered together to discuss how we can take action in 2025. If you couldn’t make it, we made a separate recording for you to catch up! Please find that recording here.
There are many calls to action this year, but one of the foundational actions we’re requesting is for Eco-Leaders to sign up for Action Teams this year!
Action Teams help us engage you in the most meaningful way possible, and support our work more effectively. If you choose not to opt in to any Teams, we will still always let you know about important Eco-Leader calls to action, but this is a way to engage more deeply in whatever aspects of the program are most interesting to you.

Make your voice heard to help slash methane emissions in Colorado
Action alert! The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is in the process of updating landfill emission regulations and wants to hear from you!
Landfills are a major source of methane—a potent greenhouse gas that generates when organic discards, like food scraps and yard debris, break down without oxygen. This invisible pollutant leaks into our atmosphere, driving global warming at an alarming rate. In the US, landfill methane emissions are equivalent to the pollution from 24 million passenger vehicles or 74 coal plants. Landfills also release harmful air pollutants that disproportionately impact low-income and communities of color nationwide.
Eco-Cycle is leading a coalition of organizations to encourage the state of Colorado and the Air Quality Control Commission to adopt the strongest possible update to the state’s landfill methane control requirements, and we need your support!
During the month of February, you can make your voice heard by:
- Attending CDPHE’s virtual public participation meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, 6:00 pm–8:00 pm MT, or
- Submitting written public comment.
